Baptisms

Baptism (also known as Christening) is a sign of being a follower of Christ and a member of his church. We welcome for baptism all those who want to make this step of commitment, either for themselves or on their children’s behalf.  At St John’s we invite all candidates for baptism, (or their parents in the case of children) to attend a couple of preparatory meetings.  These are typically a Wednesday evening (currently on Zoom) followed by an hour on a Saturday morning in the church.  These sessions aim to enrich your understanding of the Christian faith and help to equip you to live it out, as well as explaining everything that goes on in the Baptism service itself.  The actual baptisms are currently taking place on the first Sunday of each month, at 11.30 a.m. and the third Sunday at 11.00 a.m. with no more than 2 families in a service.   We’d be pleased to help with further information – please Contact Us
